MozDay at Shaastra Tech fest:

Mozilla was invited for organizing a workshop at the Maker summit along with hosting a stall during the fest. Aligning with the goals of the Makers theme. We decided to bring on Webmaker for Android as a part of the workshop.

I got an invitation as Guest speaker at the Maker summit. And I was glad to be a part of it in the prestigious institute of IIT-Madras.

After lot of planning and discussions, We finally fixed a plan for the Event.

we decided to have

  1. MozStall
  2. MakerSummit Talk

A Stall was setup for Mozilla by the Shaastra organizing team at a hotspot of the fest. We had our Stall between 9:00PM to 2:00PM.

The things that were Discussed in the MozStall includes:

  • Online Privacy
  • Firefox OS for Connected Device
  • Webmaker for Android downloads
  • Mozilla & its contribution areas
  • FSA program & Signup.

We hosted the stall only on the last day of the Shaastra tech fest. We got visitors count of over 700+ and FSA signups of around 150. Knowing the popularity of this event. We had prior arrangements made along with the bunch of swags we got. Thanks to Vigneshwer Dinakaran -Mozilla Rep who helped us with the Swags arrangements.

Also we had invited more volunteers for the stall. the volunteers were

  • Adam from villupuram
  • Dinesh MV from tirupathi
  • Ravi from SA College, chennai
  • Abraar & Farhan from BangaloreIMG_20160126_110934853.jpg

During the Stall, We got an opportunity to talk to kids, homemakers on Intetnet and online privacy. Trust me, these little kids were amazing and curious.

We had a live contest running on. We shared the Webmaker App to the Visitors of the stall and asked them to make something creative and tweet. The best makes were given Mozilla Tee.
